Aims and Scopes
iForest is an Open Access, peer-reviewed online journal published by the Italian Society of Silviculture and Forest Ecology (SISEF).
The journal encompasses a broad range of research aspects concerning forest science: forest ecology, biodiversity/genetics and ecophysiology, silviculture, forest inventory and planning, forest protection and monitoring, forest harvesting, landscape ecology, forest history, wood technology.
iForest is freely and universally accessible online. It has been selected for coverage in the following Clarivate Analytics products:

iForest aims to a rapid publication of submitted material in the following sections:
- Research articles:
original research works that present experimental results, conceptual advances, innovations in research techniques and methods. - Review articles:
papers that present the state of the art in a particular field, including metanalysis of published data set. - Short communications:
original research articles intended as brief reports of findings. - Technical advances:
papers that present new research tools, techniques and methods, including new modeling approaches. - Technical reports:
technical and methodological short notes aimed to convey technical information on a specific topic. - Commentaries and Perspectives:
persuasive comments on recently published research results.
No articles processing charge is applied.
iForest will consider only original manuscripts that have not been published elsewhere and are not under consideration by another journal.
Publishing Procedures
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to iForest using the appropriate submission form, ensuring shorter processing time, real-time manuscript tracking and the possibility to follow the whole editorial process by entering authors-restricted pages.
Please read carefully the Instructions for Authors before submission and format the manuscript accordingly.
Submission of manuscripts for publication on iForest is free-of-charge. Moreover, no articles charge is applied upon publication.
As far as accepted, the articles will be immediately formatted and published online in the final pdf format, in the chronological order of acceptance. This is a time saving procedure that can be very helpful to authors, particularly in fast-moving disciplines.
All accepted and published articles remain in our databases and archives in perpetuity for worldwide exposure and visibility.
Upon publication, iForest also deposits metadata of all articles into several publicly available databases (e.g., DOAJ , Crossref , etc.) for indexing and covering purposes.
Every two months, papers published in the "Early view" section will be page numerated and collected in a new iForest issue.
